1. "A Ticket Is A Terrible Thing To Waste"

    My reply:

    Joe,

I am one of those few who have attended most of the games this year. However, I can probably speak for some other fans: Maybe if the basketball team would schedule teams other than East Podunk State and Sisters of the Poor, actual attendance might be a bit higher. See the Washington State game's actual attendance number.

I know you weren't in charge, but also blame your predecessor for allowing the program-killer John Brady to stay on about 6 years longer than he should have been allowed to.

    Thanks,
  2. the fans should learn that several of those games against "East Podunk State" actually turn out to be really good.
  3. Unfortunately for those of us who attended, yes, Mcneese St. was a real nailbiter.

I give USL a lot of credit for actually fielding what should be a NCAA Tournament team out of the SBC though.
  4. Coach Johnson feels that he needs this time to build a solid program and to help instill in this team his ideology and coaching philosophy. It's also to help the team gel going into the new coaching staff's first SEC schedule. And for that, I don't blame them for this year's non-conference schedule. Hopefully they'll build and improve upon this schedule for next year, with a more mature team that will have the same vision as Coach Johnson.
  5. Wow...you really stuck it to the man. :dis:

  6. Johnson won't always schedule in the same manner. I don't get the impression he is afraid to take on anyone, but rather he is more concerned with bringing along a hodgepodge team that he inherited and getting them ready for SEC play.

If he makes it to the dance and especially to the sweet 16, people will forget about it, 'cause it certainly won't be a trend.

Joe is just doing his job.
  7. They need a good mix of good and bad teams. This years schedule was not only embarrassing but it was one of the worst ones I have ever seen since the NCAA formed millions of years ago.

Teams like Nebraska and Virginia arent very good. Why not schedule them? At least some fans know where those schools are located.
  8. if ctj is not conceding this season from the start (silently, of course), then the team would probably need to go 10-6 in the SEC to get an at large bid with such a low SOS (the SECW wont likely help)
  9. Glad you approve. :hihi:
