Report: Jon Gruden to leave ESPN and coach Miami | National Football Post
I read a crawler on ESPN last night that said that this isn't true.
Gruden says he loves his MNF gig and will not consider the Miami position.
Yeah.. I'm calling bogus on this one.. (not the poster, but the source).
Probably does but nothing a little more money can't change. Miami might not offer what he wants but I am sure he will leverage it for potential future jobs too.
SVP says that this be false.
South Florida Sun Sentinel sports writer twitted 45 mins ago that the Miami AD and Gruden are meeting tomorrow to finalize the deal. Unless something falls apart, Gruden will reported be the next head coach of the Hurricanes.
link...not sure where you heard this but everything is pointing towards Gruden declining the position.
look for Mullen talks to heat up in the coming weeks.
Every article I am reading makes the claim that he isn't going anywhere. I think Gruden to Miami is a pipe dream at best, and isn't happening. Next up Dan Mullen. I would prefer Mullen stay at Ms St, he has done a good job there, and any upgrade to the SECw needs to stay. UM doesn't deserve to have a coach like him.
The rumor is they had agreed to a salary but Gruden was going to name his brother Offensive Coordinator and wanted him officially named coach in waiting and that is when the negotiations broke down.
