All wanted to address the tempo of the practices this fall.

Both articles sound very encouraging.

“We’re working on getting a lot of plays in,” said Jefferson. “Last year, we really didn’t average a lot of plays on offense so that’s one of the things we’re working on this year. High intensity throughout practice will really help our offense be successful.”
Much of the credit for the speed-up on offense has been attributed to first-year wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales. I asked Jefferson if he thought the quicker pace could be traced back to the former Florida Gators coach.
“He’s a part of it. Coach Crowton, Coach Miles, all the coaches on the offensive side of the ball really brought it to our attention that we need to have a high intensity in practice,” Jefferson explained. “A lot of guys on the offense are basically veterans - we had a year of experience, some of the guys (have) two or three years. So once we get the play, we just go out and run it.
“There’s not a time we have to sit down and think about the play and what’s really going on. We already know what to do.”

I had a coach like that in high school who used to be on me all the time, 24-seven,” said Toliver. “(With Gonzales) no matter what you did, how many games you’ve played in the SEC, it doesn’t matter. He’s on you. There’s competition. If any young guy can take my spot, he can take it. But, he’s gotta earn it.”

Jefferson said he felt a palpable sense of leadership take hold.
"Those guys are following me 100 percent, right there next to me working hard, " he said after practice. "Today we worked hard, and I see the desire to be great. I felt that all the eyes were on me to improve. The offense starts with the O-line, but it also starts with me. I control our destiny. I had to take it upon myself to do a lot of things individually to help us out this year."
Jefferson said teammates have been encouraging him throughout the summer. Conversely, several Tigers said Jefferson took the challenge to heart and stepped forward. They said it carried over to Thursday's practice.
"Jordan was one of those quiet guys, but he's opened up now, " wide receiver Terrence Toliver said. "He took the receivers under his wing, got lined up with the offensive line, making his reads. I saw it happening today. I think he's made the leap."
Said wide receiver Russell Shepard: "He was the first one here every day (in the summer) and the last one to leave. He took a big jump, and we're going to fight behind him."

I'll tell you what else is very evident - this team showed up in fantastic shape. Both QBs look like they're leaner and meaner, I heard Minter showed up lighter. And if you see pictures of some of the freshmen like Armand Williams, they look like they've been busy this summer.

So far - I can't see anything but good signs.
