I know about Andrew Hatch and Jarrett Lee, but does this true freshman have any chance to come in and wow the coaches enough to have a shot at starting? I understand that both Lee and Hatch have more experience and at this point know the system (especially Crowton's playbook) a lot better. But does Jefferson have the ability and were-with-all to surpass either of these guys to become LSU's new starter?

I doubt it, unless he has superior skills and a fast learning curve, still he wouldnt start.

Anything is possible. He will have a shot at it, but it is very unlikely he will be the starter. Look to Lee to get the nod.

He'd have to be someone very special, maybe he is. I love the way he talks.

Who were the other QB's on the roster when Hodson won the job? Or a guy like Weurfel, or even Green of Georgia. I'm guessing they won the job in part because the other QB's had virtually no experience like Lee and Hatch or weren't any good which I'm hoping is not the case.

Umm, Jordan Jefferson was one of our signees this year, dude. So he'll be on the roster this Fall.

I agree. It's very difficult for a true freshman to start. Tommy Hodson was one of the few who won at LSU as a feshman.

Sorry, was thinking of Russell Shepherd.

Herb Tyler had success as a freshman, but LSU was not even in the same football universe then as we are now...so perspective would be different, as would expectations.

The thing is, Jordan doesn't HAVE to step up. I doubt he's asked to. Lee and Hatch have both shown that they have potential. None of them are proven outside of practice jerseys.

I'm comfy (FWIW) letting Jefferson redshirt, which lets both Shep and Garrett redshirt, which solves our QB situation WELL into the next five years or so.

Live is very, very good for Tiger fans.
