Watch the 4th and 12 play for Auburn that they converted where the LSU DB was a 1/2 step from making the game winning sack. I am not sure who was blitzing from his left side (the right side of our defense), but the defensive end on the right side for LSU pushes the Tackle outside instead of inside on his rush, causing the blitzing back to take a longer route to the QB. Had the DE rushed inside like I am sure he was supposed to, the DB would have had a bee line to the QB and Campbell would have had no chance to get the pass off. Little things....turn into big things
I pointed out two weeks ago that a delay penalty against the OSU receiver after a TD where he refused to give the official the ball cost OSU on the second XP try...and thus cost them the game. At the time of the penalty, it didn't seem real significant. So you're right...it's the little things that matter.
