i'm high on gillespie. after donovan said "no", i think he's a great choice. i think they dodged a bullet by not getting rick barnes who imho is overrated.

Looks like it's true. See the article in the Houston Chronicle...the author is on the A&M beat.

Gillespie actually didn't sign the new deal with ATM, AND there was no buyout clause.

Wow...looks like it's going to be a rough day in College Station.

Perhaps he'll pull an Altman, and head back to ATM tomorrow. TONS of similarities between the locals in Fayetteville and Lexington, to scare him off.

Do you think Billy called coach Fran to ask his advice on how to resign? I can hear it this way.

Billy: Hey Fran, Kentucky wants to hire me. What should I do?
    Fran: What's the money?
Billy: They seem desperate and offering me more then I could ever dream of.
Fran: Take the money and leave tonight.
    Billy: That's what Saban said
    Fran: I gotta go.
    Billy: Hello? Fran, you there?

Reportedly a seven year deal, at $2.3M per.

Not too bad, when Arky probably was going to pay him in the mid 1Ms, and A&M was going to match. Now, he's leapfrogged ahead of folks like Donovan and Barnes (although Billy D will be in the $2M range, and Barnes is close behind).

ITA that Barnes is overrated. He had arguably the best player in the nation, in Durant, and never really used him effectively. Although, Barnes is a good recruiter and talent supercedes coaching in basketball whereas in football, a less talented but well coached team can beat out the more talented team but poorly coached team.

With all these openings in College Hoops coming and going has no one shown any interest in taking Brady ?

UK could have gotten a steal on him and he even would come with final four pedigree

Maybe we could get every LSU fan nationwide to pitch in $100 each as incentive for some school to hire Brady away from LSU.

I agree completely. He's among the worst in-game coaches in big-time college basketball, yet his star shines brightly.

His success seems to be eerily similar to our Final 4 run last year.
