Never mind the upcoming games; he is lucky he only wrecked his car. He shouldn't be playing the next two games; he should be sitting in an ER watching crash victims come in.
Yea, not a good situation. The time is now for the kids to learn the dangers of drinking and driving. I'm pretty loose on letting football players get away w/ stuff (because I like watching them on Saturday...yea, OK, bad person, I know) but this is serious business -- well beyond football.
This is a huge blow for AU, but we HAVE to play without Kevin. He is part of the Auburn family, and sometimes family has to take a hit for the benefit of one of its members. Kevin needs to take a hard look at what he has done, the impact his actions has had on others, and what might have happened. Personally I think his suspension should be for 2 games. That would keep a player off the field for 20 days, in this case, much longer as these are the last 2 games until the bowl game. I think that sends a much stronger message about how close he came to not having football in his life at all. If he had hit and injured someone, 20 days would not even begin to compare to the consequences that would have been created. If Kevin and\or any player now refuses to drive under the influence, some good may come of this. That’s all we can hope for.
