9 days to go until Game Day !

These are the keys to the game I will be watching

    - DL and OL beating the guy in front of them - if you win the line you win the game most of the time

    - D ready and set at about the 10 sec mark between plays - the Ducks under Kelly make a living with catching you in the middle and not set and ready. We need a nickel base D ready to lock and load quickly.

    - Give the Ducks some 3 and outs ! Nothing would take this bunch out of their game more than a 3 and out followed by 5 min rushing ball control score.

    - Do not give up easy points - the Hogs got us for many reasons in 2010 but nothing hurt more than the easy points we gave those guys and the Ducks have that type of O that can make it happen.

    - East - West cover D that will not allow the edge to the Ducks. The Ducks will find out early like when they lost to OSU and Auburn that they can't make hay up the middle and will roll out , hit release backs , to what is needed to work the edge of our D.

    - We will Rush the ball and if we can get 4 to 6 yards on a 1st down rush turn on the Gumbo water.

    - Play action - if JJ or JL hit the open guy off play action - start the roux !

    - We get a 10 point lead in the second half and we are rushing the ball effective - put the duck meat into the gumbo !!!

I think defensively we need to play plenty of nickle. Put in tyrann to wreck havic in the backfield. Like tigercliff said, the ducks will try to take it outside. The extra speed of the added defensive backs will be able to contain them.
Tackling is a must. They can't miss tackles like in the AU game. This will be our first time without superman pp7 not on the field. Pray that someone will step up. I think the freak makes sec freshman of the year this year. He will destroy the ducks, wait and see. He's going to be a top 5 NFL pick in the draft in a couple years.

On offense, pound the floppin rock. Ware, ford and blue taking turns hammering that arse. Make the ducks pay for tackling these beast. Smash the shizt out of them straight up the gut. Make every play a floppin trainwreck. Pain, suffering and misery up front for the ducks.
Sling the ball. The ducks have no respect for jj's passing ability. If jj plays he must be able to hit the recievers in stride. If jl plays he will light their arse up. They will have to play their big dudes to stop the bleeding up front from the arse whipping that the brutal running puts on them. When the play to stop the run, sling that rock. If our qb's can throw 200+ yards we will destroy the ducks ala Virginia tech a few years ago. If we can pass the ball with success we will be # 1 the next week.

Throw the ball early and get a lead. Then long, slow 8-minute drives. They can't score if they are standing on the sidelines.

I agree 100% with all of the above ways to beat Oregon. Big key for me is to not give up the big plays. Oregon can generate steam and reel off points quickly (Look at UT last year and USC). Other key to me is to respect the opponent. Auburn did not dominate Oregon in last year's NC game. Oregon hung tough and I expect that will give them more confidence heading into LSU game. LSU can not get overconfident that they will just roll Oregon.......... that will take some work. Oregon will be ready to play. They do so at a fast pace and with few mistakes.

Agreed, but I don't know that we have to throw the ball to do that. If our oline controls the line of scrimmage, Ware, Blue, Ford and Shep can get us points early and often on the ground.

The other thing that comes into play is Special Teams. Last years team had a few players that helped and have moved on. The loss of:

Ridley, Jai Eugene, Graff, and Richard Murphy, a few more were TM7, Ware and Blue . LSU likes to use RSF and TF for these teams(This gets them into live action early). A couple players that could fall into the mix, Jenkins(#25), Terrence Magee(#14), Sam Gibson (#29), Trevon Randel (#51), Vinson (#28) and a few more.

We never seem to be at a loss for a handful of young headhunters that make their first impression on special teams. Someone will step up.

    yep

3 and outs for the Ducks early will mess with them

look at what they did last year with most of the teams they played

they get up early and then just turn on the jets

we slow em down - get em off the field - grind it down their throats

5 min 6 min drives - we win
