I'm sure the NCAA keeps detailed records on this since I see it in the stats now, so I'm wondering if they will maybe move the KO's back to the 30 now. It seems that more kicks than ever are goiung into the endzone now, taking away one of the most exciting plays. The guy from Arizona was ridiculous but even Vandy's kicker got them pretty deep.

I'd like to see it moved back another 5 yards so that we could see more runbacks and give the speed merchants more chances. What you say?

i would leave it how it is. Don't know the exact numbers but I bet its around 50/50 on returns or touchbacks. That seems like a good number. But then again if they did move it back i would not be against it. That would play into our favor with the speed we have.

At first thought it would seem like a good idea. Then you have to factor the five additional yards that the coverage team would have to go as well. You'd surely see better returns but it would throw off the balance and also cut down on goof effort by coverage teams.

Yes it would, the additional five yards would effect coverage adversely. But I see so many guys dodging players at the 10 and 15 yard line that I never used to see years ago and believe the benckmark used to and still should be the twenty yard line. Good coverage should enable a team to stop the guy at about the 20. Excellent coverage should be about the 17. And it would be much more exciting.

Heck, I remember when LSU used to put a guy at the 15 with his back facing the kickoff team. We used to fake it too him most times but every now and then he would receive the handoff and then pitch to a guy coming around the end. The Falcons actually ran it last year I believe in the playoffs. If LSU were to try this now the guy with his back to the defense would get killed.

I would like to see it. You dont see many kickoffs returned anymore.

It should be a more exciting play than just seeing someone down it in the endzone all the time.

Makes on sides kicks a little more hurtfull if you dont recover.

They just need to change to 1" tees like the NFL. Probably better for the kickers anyway.

touchbacks are a part of the game.. just like if you have a good qb who can throw far, or a good wr who can run fast, if you hvae a good kicker who can kick the crap out of the ball, then good for you... a touchback is a kicker's score... thats his goal.. if he has worked hard enough to get enough leg power to get touchbacks, then good for him...

I disagree with that when about 75% of the KO's I'm seeing are flying deep into the endzone.
