shhhh.............ill be praying for him
sounds like a pretty sad situation. i think this actually happened at the end of march but if i remember correctly he was a rs senior coming off of acl surgery. extremely sad to hear something like that. apparently there were no arteries or nerves damaged, but the three main ligaments were torn. it was bad enough to where he was given an iv on the field.
a lot of guys like that lose the leg.
Man that is rough.
That IV was most likely filled with a pain killer.
I've had my knee end up in a fairly similar position. An ACL injury is devastating; in fact, my left ACL is just a thin thread these days. The docs think as long as I keep my leg strong, my body will just adjust to not having the ACL.
I feel very badly for the young man in that picture. He has a lifetime of limping and arthritis ahead of him--to say nothing of the probable loss of a pro career.
and here i was hoping this was leading to the "strangest place" thread.
That particular strangest place was on a high school basketball court!
as we've discussed before, we we're in the same boat that way. i dont wish an knee injury on anyone. the body does have to learn how to adjust, but there will always be limitations.
i cant look at that pic. its too disturbing.
