watch the replay and just watch Kyle. I couldnt believe he was in the backfield almost if not every play. Even downfield making tackles. Especially after halftime since he wanted to lead by example after his pep-talk.

the fact he's a scratch golfer really pisses me off.

first time he's won the award. hard to imagine.

Williams Named SEC Defensive Player of the Week

BATON ROUGE -- LSU defensive tackle Kyle Williams has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week following his 11-tackle, 2.5-sack performance against Alabama on Saturday, the league office announced on Monday.

Williams, a senior from Ruston, played perhaps his best game in an LSU uniform in helping the Tigers to the 16-13 overtime win over Alabama. Five of Williams 11 tackles were solo stops as he led a Tiger defense that limited Alabama to just four first downs and 77 yards in the second half.

Williams' 2.5 sacks accounted for 15-yards in losses and he also added four quarterback hurries for a Tiger defense that sacked Crimson Tide quarterback six times, the most allowed by Alabama all year.

Williams and the Tiger defense has allowed only one touchdown over the last 12 quarters and LSU hasn't given up a first quarter touchdown since the Mississippi State contest on Oct. 1.

For the year, Williams has recorded 45 tackles, 6.5 tackles for losses and 4.5 sacks.

The SEC honor is the first of Williams' career.

Other SEC honors handed out on Monday include: Auburn running back Kenny Irons as the offensive player of the week; Kentucky return specialist Rafael Little the special teams player of the week; Auburn center Jon Cope the offensive lineman of the week; South Carolina defensive tackle Chris Tucker the defensive lineman of the week; and Arkansas quarterback Casey Dick freshman of the week.
