pretty stupid move. i doubt he will make much more $ elsewhere. he needs to come to grips w/ being an aging back. figure in the cost of leaving SD and settling elsewhere...swallow your pride man.

swallow his pride? lol. Dude has been the best back in the last decade. Injuries have killed him the last few season, if he ever gets 100% I would sign him in a heartbeat. Pride has nothing to do with that.

I haven't followed the Chargers very closely these past few years.

Do you think he was really hampered with injuries this season?

Because if he wasn't, then he is washed up. How do you have such a poor yards per carry avg (3.3) with a QB like Rivers throwing it all over the field and keeping safeties and linebackers honest.

He averaged 3.8 ypc and played every game in 2008.

I think his time is done.

He is going through what Edge went through as well as Emmitt. Playing past his prime.

He may be a competent running back still, but not worth the salary he is owed next year. Is this good for Hester? Would think so.

Not quite sure Sproles could carry the load. I am still wait and see on him. Hester might get an extra toss or two from the backfield. Line him at TE for a gaff here and there.

I see LT ending up in either Denver or Pittsburgh, both have young tailbacks who are the future of the organization, and could use a guy like LT. Would be fitting if he ended up in Denver.
