1. I was reading about the PP Heisman talk, and that got me thinking who was the last player that we had that was in the running for the Heisman? Or is Billy Cannon the only Tiger that ever got that far?
  2. Jerry Stoval was runner-up in 1962, I think. Charles Alexander was #4 in 1977.
  3. Thanks red, that goes back a little further than I do.
  4. Thats the only one I can think of that was ever even talked about for the Heisman in the last 30 years.
  5. wasn't there some pre season chatter about Tommy Hodson one year?
  6. Yes, there was a Hodson for Heisman campaign in the fall of '88, but it fizzled, as I suppose he did, as well.
  7. you know as bad as Jamarcus was in the pros you would have thought he had won the heisman.

  8. Only know exactly b/c I looked it up but it was '78 and he finished 5th.;

    Winners

    I loved watching Charles Alexander play and his fullback was none other than Hookie Gajan who was moved to tailback in 1979. I witnessed Hookie running a kickoff back for a touchdown that year, it was raining that night and we sat under the overhang in the south endzone, best seat in the house that night.

    I also believe that LSU pimped Dalton Hilliard for the Heisman one year, seams I recall the slogan ... Dalton HeisTHEman !
  9. Glenn Dorsey was 9th in 07

  10. It's amazing what someone like Dorsey can do to the team. Our D was such a cohesive unit then. He was the heart and soul.
