Hopefully Lavalais can get his career back on track and get a fresh start with a new team. No idea if the Rams will be the team; http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sp...B35DE8783035A80D8625720B00126F1A?OpenDocument He had previously worked out for the Vikings: http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/sports/15624983.htm
Yeah. Jim Mora Jr. was highly upset with his play in preseason (to say the least). At one point, Lavalais made some comment about not worrying about his production in preseason--or something to the effect that his spot on the depth chart wasn't a big deal because he knew that when the season started, he would be the starter. I was more than disappointed in his stance. Chad isn't your 330 lbs. "run stuffer" at DT. He needs to keep in shape and play with quickness. When you're undersized by DT standards, you have to show a unique ability in something else. And showing up to camp out of shape and have a lackluster performance, isn't going to get it done. I hope he lands someplace.
I always wondered why the Scouts killed him despite his college performance, guess that's why they make the big bucks because I thought Chad was going to do well.
Totally agree, Chad's success was due in large part to his quickness off of the line of scrimage. Sounds like he may have forgotten how hard he had to work to have success. Life will humble you and sometimes its just what you need. Come on Chad get off your @ss and get with the program. We're all pulling for you big guy !
Scouts got down on him at the combine, he did not benchpress 225 lbs. very many times for a guy his size, that's what I remember. And I guess that's why the scouts do make the big bucks.
