and who says the nba is nothing but selfless thugs.

LeBron James will join several other NBA superstars in Houston for a Hurricane Relief Game organized by TNT's Kenny Smith this Sunday.
Others scheduled to play are Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade and Amare Stoudemire. The game takes place Sunday night and will be televised at 11 p.m. on TNT. If you are jonesing for some hoops, this is going to be tough to beat, and it's even for a great cause.

Knicks captain Stephon Marbury wept uncontrollably during an impassioned speech at an NBA Players' Association press conference after he pledged between $500,000 and $1 million to relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina.
He spoke of ''little babies floating in the river'' before breaking down, and continued to sob for five minutes after he stopped speaking. Most people in the NBA have never seen this side of Marbury, who had his first son in March. When he follows through with the donation, it will be the largest contribution by an NBA player.

Regarding support from NBA players, it just kills me to feel like I have to say, "I'll believe it when I see it."

You think Spreewell offered up anything? Oh wait, I forgot, his multi-million dollar salary can't even pay for his own kids to eat.
