People have argued that he has it tough not being the big school in the state and has done well with what he has had to work with. Well, good, I guess. But what about other programs in other states? Let's take a smaller state like Washington. UW and WSU have gone back and forth in terms of rankings and accomplishments. Granted, UW is not quite an OU, but UW has had its share of success. Anyway, let's move on. I was thinking about Urban Meyer this morning. He's coming off a perfect season. BYU is not what it used to be, but there hasn't been a dominant program in Utah for awhile, and if you had to say which program had been dominant in football, you'd have to look at BYU, not the Utes. Things are changing in Utah. Could this be because of the coach?

All I am saying is that there were bigger names out there that were enjoying more success than Mr. Miles. 28-21 is no big accomplishment in my book. Seemingly, LSU could have done better, but maybe not. Neverthless, he is the new coach and I support him 100%. This will be the first and last time I criticize the hire (by using this thread). This hire is somewhat of a risk. In order for Miles to be successful, he will have to be a talented AND hungry coach, much like Nick Saban was. Let's hope for the best. :thumb: (Flame suit is ON.) ;)

Hey, at least my opinion won't get buried and you read it! :thumb:

I can tell that you disagree with my opinion. Relax, it's just an opinion.

Come on, you guys need to treat your fellow LSU fans better. I've let the idea of the hire sink in for days. I haven't criticized it or complimented yet until now. I said this was the only time I was going to weigh in on the hire. Give me a break already. :dis:

Personally, I don't think you can compare Wash./WSU and BYU/Utah to OU/OSU. OU is a college football goliath. OSU will never, repeat NEVER come close to equalling OU as far as prestige in the state of Oklahoma. I don't care who the coach is/was. Using those examples to downplay what Miles did there is just wrong, IMO.

Alabama. And Auburn would never equal Alabama. It can happen.

I can see I am going to get my ass kicked on this thread. If that makes you guys feel better, than have fun. I guess I am not allowed to have a dissenting view on this hire. Just a few days ago, plenty of people respectfully dissented. Now that he is the coach, I guess it is a crime against humanity to do so. Shameful.
