Now that it is offiicial that Michigan will not be hiring LSU's coach, can we LSU fans fully support Les Miles now? I will be the first to admit that I was skeptical of Les and his ability. However, LSU finally has a coach that has chosen LSU, and he even chose it over his Alma Mater that he truly loves. After watching his press conference after the SEC CG, I fully believed that he was staying at LSU, no matter the rumors still flying around about Michigan. I think in that press conference you saw a coach that actually spoke the truth. His honesty won me over, he was truthful that he loves Michigan and wishes he could be there, but he was more concerned about his current players and their success. He gave up his shot at his dream job because he is truly a man of integrity and truly loves his players. LSU finally has its COACH, and I believe that he will retire from LSU and be LSU's winningest coach of all time. The man has the best winning percentage after three years in LSU history and owns a conference championship. All questions about Miles' ability and Miles' integrity have been answered in my opinion. So all Tiger fans should fully support him from now on through thick and thin, he's decided to stay with us show we should stick with him.
well said. Some fans may not like the way he talks...might not like the coaching decisions he makes all of the time...might not like the way he wears his hat...but the bottom line is that he WINS!
I second that, he sometimes makes bonehead calls but he is our coach, and he is a good coach and a great man. (as long as he wins the NC) :geauxtige
You're absolutely right that we should be proud and happy to have Les Miles. Michigan supporters are still upset they didn't get him--RR is ok but his players have been questionable over the years and who knows whether he made a deal with the devil and won't have the leeway he needs to succeed up there. I'll bet there isn't a team in the SEC West which wouldn't trade for him (and maybe all of them in the SEC East, too...I like him a million times better than Richt but some people don't feel that way.) It is wonderful that he will have the chance to avenge all the losses his alma mater has suffered lately by the hand of the poison nuts--I look forward to LM hunkering down now and concentrating on killing Ohio State in the NC and bringing his OWN crystal ball to BR! :milesmic:
Not sure if Miles had to actually choose LSU over Michigan because he may never have been offered the job.
Unfortunately the man will never get the respect he deserves until he wins a national championship, and in some people's eyes, that still may not even be enough. No coach is perfect, but I don't think I'd rather have any other coach at LSU at this point in time. Hopefully he will have continued success in the face of his detractors. Geaux Miles.
You stole the words right out of my mouth. I wonder if the "Sport Reporters" on ESPN will be appologizing with a mouth full of crow.:milesmic: :geauxtige :helmet: :crystal:
What on earth would make you think this? It's pretty clear by now that they targeted Miles as their next HC. They could have hired RR a couple of weeks ago and not suffer the embarrassment of being spurned by a Michigan man. For better or worse, Miles chose LSU over Michigan.
