After the championship, when Les Miles was talking so much about how he loves Michigan and how he will always cheer for them and about how sad he is that he can't be there and how he will do anything to help them...did it make anybody feel a little betrayed? Is he only staying cause he didn't get offered a job there? He did call us home, but it seems like to me that his loyalties are definitely split a little too evenly. Or am I just reading into this too much? :crystal:< LET'S BRING IT HOME!
Are you kidding? Les is excited about going to the BCSNCG, which he will formally be notified of in less than 6 hours.!!!! :crystal: One of many reasons who relished the opportunity to come to LSU. I wouldn't be surprised if he showed loyalty to us after we showed loyalty to him. Man really showed me something yesterday! :thumb: :milesmic:
I heard he is staying because he loves gumbo and can't get the good stuff in Michigan and you didn't hear that from me. Keep reading.
I didn't feel that way at all. He's a Michigan man, just like we're LSU men/women. If you were the coach at Michigan, but the LSU job was opening up, wouldn't you feel conflicted too? And wouldn't you still cheer for the Tigers, even though you're the Michigan coach? I just think Les was speaking from his heart. I don't fault him for it one bit.
I think basically what he was saying is that he is sad that he can't do both... He loves Michigan but has fallen in love with LSU... kinda like fond "what-if" memories of an old girlfriend... at least thats the way I'd like to see it...
If we're going, they've probably already been notified. In 2003, the band was on the way home from the SEC Championship. We stopped for lunch or a break or something. We weren't told that we were going to the NC, but the associate director was wearing sugar packets for earrings. Wasn't too hard to figure out from there.
