"They were not, however, playing like the second best team in the country. Not by a long shot. "

"But shouldn't LSU get some credit for crushing MSU's will to win? No, not really. Credit that to Michael Henig."

"...the truth of the matter is that a team from the local Pop Warner league would've intercepted almost as many passes as LSU did last night. Henig was just that bad."

i think les's comments about usc's schedule really pissed this guy off.

I don't see where his assessment is that far off to tell you the truth. The offense didn't look like the #2 team in the country for most of the ball game and there were some clear deficiencies that will have to be fixed. It has also been stated repeatedly that LSU played a vanilla defense and an extremely vanilla offense holding back for the VT game. LSU didn't look like a #2 team in the country partly on purpose and partly because there is still much work to do. That doesn't mean that they are not the second best team in the country, just that they didn't show it last night.

    A couple points:

    1) I really feel sorry for Henig. That was the worst game he ever played, and now everyone seems to have forgotten that he's played other games. He played terrible against us, and therefore he must be terrible. It has nothing to do with us. Henig is not a great QB. In fact, he's not even a good QB. Not at this level. But it's not like he's thrown 6 interceptions every time out.

    2) We looked like we have a championship level defense. The offense still has a long way to go, but we have a championship level defense.

I think there is only one game this weekend that has 2 ranked opponents. So yea, we could stay at #2

    No reason.

Maybe if the author of this article got to decide. He doesn't, so...

No where does he say LSU is not the #2 team, just that they didn't play like it. I think the last paragraph of the article sums it up pretty good.
