Late game rally, and a great defensive effort made this game. How do you think we'll do against Florida and Auburn?
I think we'll work on some things on the offense side of the ball, and just over-all basics... no blocking in the back, holding, pass interference no no's... The defense gives me goosebumps though.... back to their true form... I hope it lasts, and I hope we can do the same thing Versus Florida which is entirely possible... this team might be just coming together... Florida game should be an indicator. As long as Doucet is in the game, I have no doubt's.
Depends on what offense and defense show up. It would be nice if both sides of the ball would show up and play a little more error free ball because if they do the sky is the limit.
Gut feeling...I think we beat Florida. We will go into the game with all outside factors equal between us. Hurricane Katrina is past us for the most part (I don't mean there aren't people still suffering, but as far as football goes it isn't a huge issue anymore), we both played cupcakes this week, and we both had tough loses recently. The one difference is that we will have home field. There offense hasn't been nearly as impressive as everyone though it would be. Leak just isn't the right type of QB for that sytem. And while the backup may be a better fit, Leak is too talented to take out. Our offense has been a bit of a disappointment too so far, but that not supposed to be our MO. Also, we are healthy on offense for the most part (we do have some injuries at Center). They lost one of their best playmaking WRs for the season. Our Defense looks like it has really come together. Granted, we haven't played the most explosive offenses these past 2 weeks. We are deep, fast, and talented. Few injuries and motivated to prove wrong all the doubters who have spoken up in this early season. Florida has already lost its best pass rusher for the season and isn't all that deep to begin with. I like it! I think we get a big win at home next week and it reenergized a lot of the fans who have had the winds taken out of their sails by the Tenn loss. If we do win, LOOK OUT! The Tigers will be fired up and it will all come down to a huge matchup in Tuscaloosa. More on that later. For now I'm happy and looking forward to next Saturday. :geauxtige
Miles definitely needs to clean up the penalties. The guy who speared Cutler needs an ass chewing. I think this game was very good for us. This might be the turning point of our season. We can bring it to Florida if the offense learned something from this game, especially Russell. He is still so green it hurts.
Exactly, our team seems to be like Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde from one game or half to another. We really need to quit making so many mental mistakes, that will hurt us against Auburn, Alabama and Florida. Btw, I'm starting to think the toughest games could be Alabama, Auburn and then Florida in that order. I'm not totally convinced Florida has their act together yet!
Overall happy with the outcome. Thought it might have been one of those "ugly" wins...the defense played a whale of a game. The team stayed together and the offensive did play a much better second half -- just hold on to the damn ball! Fewer penalties! :geauxtige
If we play the same type defense we played tonight we will win. What I mean is disguising the blitz and bringing heat a lot. Also think it hinges on the way JV plays because JA can't do it all. If JV plays like we did tonight I think we win. It was really nice to see him doing so well tonight and be able to give JA a well deserved breather. Neither these things will matter though if we don't cut out the turnovers and the penalties.
