Are you happy w/Skip? Do you think he has the baseball and basketball programs headed in the right direction? Should Skip stay or should he go? Who would you like to see replace him. Maybe your happy w/the job so far.

I think he has been a great asset. He can raise funds, he can raise ticket prices because of who he is, he can do a lot of things other people can't do....and that's a great quality in an Athletic Director. That being said, he is a coach at heart, which makes him not quite up to the task of deciding who should be fired and when...but other than Smoke he has made good hires. Shaver's been great....Pokey was great, Chancelor is great...so far so good on Les. I think overall he has been very effective and underated to this point. I give him an 8.5 out of 10 as an AD.

Is the baseball team headed in the right direction? Yes, now it is.

The basketball team? No. That wont happen until we get a new coach. Basketball simply isnt important enough at LSU.

I hate how he has raised ticket prices for the FB games. I feel it has lowered attendance. He should at least lower prices for tickets that haev not been sold to get some butts in the seats and at least get some money.

I also think TS needs a facelift. Some of the things around the stadium look like total crap. We really need a new sound system too. I think before adding more seats(we are having trouble filling the stadium now) we should just renovate and upgrade the stadium.

But Skip has been a great AD. LSU sports have never been better as a whole.

Skip has presided over some of the best years in LSU athletics.

He was part of a few great hires, including Saban, Miles, Manieri, Pokey and Chancellor. He's been big on upgrading all of our facilities, which continues to be necessary.

    He isn't perfect though.

He will be gone soon enough. It looks like the Moreau is the leading candidate to replace him. I don't have a problem with him, I just question how much that will play into the "good ole' boy network". Personally, I hope we go get Randockovich back from Georgia Tech.

    :hihi:

My only beef with Stanley J. is the fact that John Brady continues to coach LSU basketball. I'll feel much better about his tenure when that is no longer the case.

I'm not sure why we are asking the question "should he stay or go" since it has been announced that he is stepping down as AD next summer.

Overall, he has been good for LSU. He was a compromise choice for AD and learned the job on the fly. However, his ego and penny-pinching money management is a problem. I understood the need to raise tix prices, but it is all about the money with him which affects things like football scheduling and putting too few dollars into the basketball program. And talk about a clash when you put him in the same room with a big ego coach like Saban or Henry. He was too involved in the baseball program after he retired. It's hard enough following a legend, but it has to be incredibly hard when that legend is in your dugout during games.

We need to hire someone with experience, not someone like Moreau.

If we spent some of that Bowl Money on a Men's BB coach, we could have a Billy Gillispie, or hell even a Tubby Smith...Arg

True. He's been a damn good AD.

No one is. But he is better than Joe Dean, Bob Broadhead, and Paul Dietzel. Far better.

Moreau had his best shot when Skip was hired, byt Emmert wouldn't have him. This is a modern, top-notch athletic program. It is not neccessary to get an "LSU guy" in there. It is absolutley neccessary to get a professional sports administrator in there. Moreau is a fine DA but would be an amateur AD. He belongs in the radio booth where he is admired and is very competent. I think we lost our chance to get Radakovich by retaining Skip too long. But I hope he will come back, too.
