1. Best brands and engines. I am looking for a Bay Boat
  2. I don't have much experience with bay boats, but I drove a Pathfinder for a summer and it was a nice bay boat. It had a 275 HP Yamaha HPDI on the back (I think it was 275...may have been a 250, but I'm almost positive it was a 275) and that effing boat HAULED ACE.

Nice for red fishing. Shallow hull. Sturdy boat.

    There is my .02

  3. Bayboat = Pathfinder. You can choose the 24, 22, or 20 depending on what you want. I see lots of Shearwaters, too, and TRITON is coming along very strong. I used to see a lot of, damn, I hate getting old. But I would go with Pathfinder, if you afford it. They are made by Maverick/Hewes/Pathfinder...all top of the line fishing boats. Good Luck.
  4. I looked at a Ranger, but Jesus they are expensive!!!!!! Whats the story on Nautic Star?
  5. keep the expenses down and do like Fishhead. get a kayak. :)
i would really like to try that.
  6. can't get where i fish in a bay boat.
  7. Had a Ranger Bass Boat. Was the best boat I ever owned. Never had a bay boat but have ridden in a few. Pathfinder was quite good.
  8. I had a Predator 22 foot bay boat with a 200 Yamaha Saltwater Series. Shallow draft and lots of room for 4 people to fish comfortably. Wide open it would run at almost 60. I usually ran at 3/4 throttle at about 40 because wide open it burned lots and lots of gas real fast.
  9. maverick boat co. they make mavericks and hewes too. i could probably get where nootch goes in one of those. if not i might steal a hells bay.
  10. Big Boat person.
I am more in the cruiser/ski boat type so doesnt fit but for what it is worth
Stingray - What I have now and its miserable. Nice price, horrible quality.

Four Winns- Best boat I have ever owned and wish I never sold it
