I lived in McAllen as an army recruiter several years ago There would be armed guards on the roof of the mall guarding the parking lot due to the auto theft. my us govt van was stolen as well My lawnmower was stolen out of my carport shed all in all an interesting experience learning to live as a minority. met lots of great people there and enjoyed the culture but you knew that there were as many citizens of mexico as there were texans everywhere you went
