The LSU basketball team takes on Arkansas tonight on the national stage of ESPN at 8 pm. This should be a tough game and a baptism by fire for our freshman. Bud Walton is a tough place to play your first SEC game.

Take time off from watching replays of the national championship game to watch the basketball team get its first SEC win of the year.

    Geaux Tigers!!

I remember the new Razorback coach taking some shots at Brady last year. What was the feud about? Anyone remember?

    lsu99, from Advocate article today:

Arkansas coach Stan Heath accused LSU players of laughing at his team after dunking on it during a 75-56 Tigers' victory in Baton Rouge last season.

In an 85-56 LSU win over Arkansas in the SEC Tournament in New Orleans three weeks later, frustrated Arkansas guard Jonathon Modica grabbed LSU forward Ronald Dupree after Dupree blocked his shot and the two tangled briefly before backing off. Modica was charged with a foul and a technical foul.

That was until moments later when Arkansas guard Eric Ferguson fouled driving LSU guard Torris Bright hard and pushed him right in front of the LSU bench. Official John Clougherty pointed at Ferguson and huddled with two other Arkansas players as LSU coach John Brady yelled, "Throw him out the game."

Ferguson yelled a cuss word back at Brady, who yelled something back. Official Rick Crawford then ejected Ferguson for "unsportsmanlike conduct."

After the game, Arkansas coach Stan Heath accused Brady of getting into a "dialogue" with his players and said "that shouldn't have taken place."

Dupree and Bright finished their careers last year. Modica, Ferguson and Heath will be in action tonight.

"I know Stan Heath," Brady said. "He's a smart guy, and I'm sure he's doing everything he can to remind his team of how we played them the last two games a year ago. I'm sure any coach does what they need to do to motivate their teams as we do ours. That's part of what happened, and I'm sure they're going to be ready."

Heath tried to downplay the revenge factor.

"I don't see last year as a motivator," Heath said. "I just see us being a different team, and I see LSU being different in some ways. LSU and Arkansas have a history, a tradition, a rivalry that's already in place. Our games with LSU last season probably added to that. But there's nothing personal about it."

    Ferguson pleaded amnesia.

"I don't remember anything about last year," he said. "It's a new year. I'm not thinking about what happened last year
