Yes, in hindsight, it was nice to read that folks (on this thread) were true to the team, and also nice to see many of our predictions come true.

In the end, we won more games than anyone thought in the SEC and won the whole damn thing, WITH less depth than we originally thought. Also, unsung heros stepped up. I for one had no clue Temple and Thomas would make the impact that they did, although Tas played true to expectations. Ben had an inconsistent first year, but showed signs of being a reliable point, provided he steps up his scoring and cuts down on some bad passes. Rolle is coming late in the year.

I think at this stage of the game, the post season landscape does excite me. But, I don't think we're going to "sneak up" on anyone. The media continues to note LSU, and we're a team "noone" wants to play... so, in some ways, the pressure is on, and the expectations are higher. We have a predictable set of strengths on our team, and we're a dangerous team to defend if we are healthy (considering we AREN'T that deep afterall). The question is how healthy can we get in two weeks? Have our close wins over the last few weeks lulled us into a state of comfort? How well are we really playing right now?

I know the SEC tourney is almost meaningless for us, except for maintaining a high seed going into the NCAAs, but it IS a good chance for Brady to see how good his team really is playing, what is going to work and not work at this stage of the game. He's got a week to rest his guys and start to think like a coach with something to prove in the post season. I'm excited also for that... a chance for Brady to really show what he's made of, after some disappointing outings.

It's perhaps an interesting corner we're turning this season for LSU Mens' basketball.... It's no longer about hoping we get into the NCAAs, but about going there to come home with something bigger. I feel good about this season, but I feel better for the program for years to come.
