well, they haven't played yet...tipoff in 30 mins. not often we can enjoy a basketball win vs the mildcats so I'll try to savor this one. predictions on score? fowles # blocks and boards temeka assists take your pick for seimone
I figure Pokey has a reason for not starting Fowles, but I don't know what it is. Maybe it's a show of respect for Tillie Willis. It could be, though, that she lets the opponent get into the flow of the game for 4 or 5 minutes, get all fired up and cocky then, BAM. In comes Sylvia and suddenly they can't do sh*t anymore. Whatever the reason, it works. Fowles is a monster. How about Quianna Chaney? She's a player. And Flo Williams. She looked like Seimone there for a couple of minutes. I love watching this team play.
I think she is doing right in starting Tillie, as long as Fowles gets in her share of minutes and is in at crunch time it's a good thing.
47-29 half. damn this team knows how to close. fowles may be the most dominant player in the league next year if she's not already. 5 for 5 11 points 7 boards 1 assist 2 blocks after once again coming off the bench. seimone has 10 points. temeka 4 assists.
Up by 18 at half Semoine with 10, Sylvia with 11, Chaney with 8. Sylvia with 11 boards. UK is shooting 52% but has 9 turnovers with LSU having 7 steals to keep UK's points low.
i was thinking about this before the game started. A select few like coming off the bench and Marcus Randall was one example. its possible she is willie simms-like and prefers to be the dominant 6th "man". for whatever reason, it works. also, i was thinking how seimone really reminds me of rudy macklin. Not necessarily directly but the way it seems you hardly notice either while playing then you look up and they had 24 points without you knowing it. something so smooth and effortless it goes unnoticed. I first got into college hoops as a kid when the 81 team was making its run and I always was shocked to hear the boxscore of macklin even after watching the games. something special about certain players that allow them to do this.
