LSU has to do what ever possible to hang on to this guy. (Outside of PC Black Bear style illegal inducements) Miles wants so bad to be Alabama and run that style of an Offense, (Bruising ground game complimented by an "Efficient" passing game) but it's not happening without a cerebral Pro-Style Drop Back Pocket Passer that can read Defenses and make all the throws. So, how do you accomplish this feat? You recruit that type of QB. You don't recruit "Dual Threat" QB's that were the best "Athletes" on their high school team and ran a very simple "One-Read Spread Option" Offense. If the primary "First and Only" WR wasn't open on a passing play, they just took off running. No "Defense Reading" at all. No experience running a complicated Pro-Style passing game. This doesn't cut it in the SEC. Too much of a steep learning curve. Yet, Miles has flat out refused or has had a lot of trouble in trying to convince "Cerebral Passing QB's" that fit his system better to attend LSU. He's still trying in vain to convert "Spread Option Running QB's" (Jennings-Harris-McMilan-Scott) into efficient I-Formation drop back passing QB's. (Mettenberger-Alabama QB Club) and it "Aint Workin." But maybe, just maybe, he's beginning to "See the Light" with the recruitment of Brennan for 2017 and Dinkelmann in 2018. Hang on to these guys and add the California PSDBPP and he'll be heading in the right direction. May be too late though, depending on what happens in 2016............................
