LSU, in a last minute flurry, put some distance between them and Everyone's Internet to win their opener, 78-70. The game would NOT have been as close but Pokey used this as a time to check her roster's talent. Everyone played save for Chaney, Mitchell, and Willis (all of whom were benched for violation of unspecified team rules) and true frosh RaShonta LaBlanc.

Seimone and Sylvia Folwes provided the 1-2 offensive punch. Seimone had 28 points on 12-16 shooting. Sylvia was even hotter going 10-13 and pulling down 10 boards to go with her 20 points. Summer Erb didn't provide much of a challenge. Good news for LSU fans was the play of Crystal White. She played solid minutes in relief of Fowles and hit the boards hard. Not sure if she will be a consistent scoring threat but at 6'5" her defensive presence will be helpful.

Schlonda Hoston hit 10 points. The player I would most liked to have seen play, didn't play. Quianna Chaney set out because of violation of team rules. Too bad as I think she could be an impact player. This frosh class has the ability to provide lots of depth to this team.
