Basically ... Every offensive starter, whatever the depth chart turns out to be, will be on an NFL roster, or at least be in NFL camp. Not only that, every second teamer, whatever the depth chart turns out to be, will likely be on an NFL roster, or at least be in an NFL camp. That's how loaded the LSU offense is with talent.

The season will be a success if ... LSU wins the SEC title. It's always asking for too much of anyone, including USC, to demand a spot in the national title game, but anything less than the SEC title for this group would be a major disappointment. Woe to Les Miles if the Tigers don't even win the West.

The season will be a success if ... Tennessee wins the SEC title. Getting to the national championship is asking for a bit too much with the brutal conference road games, but there's no reason the Vols can't get back to the SEC championship game and win it. Anything less for this team will be a massive disappointment.

The season will be a success if ... Georgia wins the SEC title. The SEC, particularly the East, is way too nasty to negotiate without one mistake. If Georgia wins the SEC title it can roll the dice on the Rose Bowl argument and say it was the best team in the best conference in America. That tact didn't work for Auburn, but the SEC wasn't as good last year.

simply shows the depth of the sec.. that there are quite a few teams that have a real shot at the title..

There's one very important distinction in the CFN preseason rankings: these are based on how good the teams are going into the season and NOT how they're going to finish.

lsu gets it's day in the sun? when the hell did we start getting excited about something that says USC IS NUMBER ONE!!! in huge letters and then, the tigers arent quite as good as them in small letters below it...

i hope to God LSU and USC are undefeated going into the bowl season. and the bcs doesnt screw us, cause if les miles proves to be a good coach, LSU should be there.

Well... as much as I hate to say it, no publication in their right mind will NOT have USC #1.

They are the champs, they got the heisman trophy winner back, and another heisman finalist back...

So until they are beaten, they are #1... no matter how overrated they or, and no matter how easy their schedule is.
