It's not an unreal question or statement, then again you do have to take into account chance/luck.

Well, you are measured by championships in todays world. Les hasnt won any...yet! I think we had one of the best teams of all time last year and I dont mean to take anything away from our NC team but we had all the tools in place to get it done last year but came up a sliver short.

Im a wee bit more cautious about the upcoming year. I think we are a little too quick to expect a NC run this year and I hope the fans dont go nuts if we lose a game. We lost a huge chunk of our offense and have a new system, new OC and new players at key positions. We may be too optimistic in expecting a NC with those factors in play. I'll be just as happy with another 10+ win season but sooner or later Les is going to have to add some hardware to our cabinet or these bottom feeding media yaps will be publishing more of the same.

Perfection is tough! Just ask the St. Louis Cardinals The Cardinals had the best team in MLB 3 years ago and lost the Series to the fate of the Red Sox.
Last year the Cardinals should have lost in the first round and they end up winning the Series with a mediorce team. Go figure! Who knows what will happen next year. Gotta believe in MOJO & KARMA! I'm pulling for Miles and my Tiga's!

Mandel is pointing the finger in the wrong direction.

Don't slam Les, of all people, for having this kind of talent and no MNCs during that time (ever heard of a little thing called Hurricane Katrina, Stewie)? Focus on the "M" in MNC for your answer...if we had a semi-legit playoff system, SEC teams would win at least 60% of all (non-mythical) national titles.

Whatever. Any article that points out the fact that the 2007 team will be capital s Sick is a good thing...yet another reason why I won't be shocked when LSU gets that #2 ranking right out of the gate this August.

Well if we would of beat Auburn(obviously a game we should of had) we would of had a chance to beat Florida(sec championship) and get in.

Prolly cause the team that won the NC played essentially the same schedule as we did.

To me a team that should be kicking themselves is Auburn, they beat us and Florida then turn around and allowed 37 points, at home, to Georgia- who's offense seemed to sputter at times this year.

    Were you home-schooled?? :)

Are you referring to Florida? Or LSU in 03? If Florida, they got very lucky to only have one loss last year. For LSU in 03, no where near the same schedule.

Jimbo is conservative, as was Saban, and as can Miles be. To me, it appears that when Miles if confident we can we a game he keeps the offense open. If he thinks it will be tight, he tries to eliminate turnovers with a conservative game plan. Jimbo's strength is developing players and running the offense, not necessarily play-calling. Word is that it was Miles who held back the offense in the Auburn game, but it didn't happen again after that. Thats one thing I like about Les, he always seems to be improving and changing mistakes.

There is a lot of luck in getting to play for a NC, and LSU just hasn't had the ball fall the right way yet. What I find ridiculous is that he says we haven't competed for the NC, but I'd say that two top 5 finishes in a row counts for competing.
