LSU will either be #1 or very close after this week. Putting up 600 yards and 48 pts against the 3rd best defense in the country will change many voters over to putting LSU #1 on their ballot. A poor overturn by the replay official kept us from blanking Vtech. This one will be very close.
I really wonder what will happen in the polls. I say USC shouldn't lose the #1 spot unless they lose, but LSU is making it close.
I think we may be bumped up to #1 in the coach's poll, however I don't think the AP will drop USC as #1.
It should give us a few more votes, but since USC was idle they didn't do anything to lose any votes so they should stay #1.
I predict we will be #1 next week this time because I'm not convinced USC can go into Lincoln and come out with a W. Even if they manage to win there next week their schedule this year will be more difficult than years past with the play of the pac 10 this year.
I don't buy the "they didn't lose" stuff. USC wasn't dominant in beating Idaho. They're annointed #1 just because Pete "God calls me for advice" Carroll is the coach and because they're the darlings of Tinseltown. I don't care if we're #1 this week. I want to be #1 in January!
