Depending upon how much you value NC's and SECC's, it could be argued that we have beaten FL's run. I think that one NC is worth a handful of SECC's. Therefore, since we have 2 and FL has one, I would pick LSU as having already beaten the Spurrier era. I don't think it is possible in the near future to beat the Bear's run.

    Nice stats.

And they still have a few years to work on it! I'll be surprised if anyone other than our SEC brethren will ever give us credit for it though. Every Gator fan I know was pulling for the Tigers in that game! BTW...I was reminded we're one up on them in NC's now:thumb:

still think UF of 90s has us, even with one less NC. they dominated the SEC way more.

anyone care to break down the stats more? id bet that Bama of the 70s and UF of the 90s had a worse nonconf record of the 00s. or at least they had a worse nonconf than their own conf record.

That's a solid argument, considering the SEC wasn't nearly as strong in the 90's as it has been in this decade.

We have two more years to seal it up. Another couple SEC Championships would seal the deal if you ask me...

Man, the landscape of college football sure has changed since the 70's. No wonder Bama fans are delusional, they compare every coach and every year to the 70's. :geaux::crystal::geaux:

Since Bear Bryant coached the Tide from 1958–1982, I added the 60's stats to my original post, which only had the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's.

Thanks for adding the 60's, I was wondering how it looked.
