    SEC Tourney time.

We lost to Mississippi State both times this season.

    Payback time.

Look for the LSU defense to put the clamps on tonight.

It's on FSN - South and Southwest

Latear Eason got run over and fell backwards. It didn't look like she hit her head, but they were obviously worried when she complained about neck pain.

LSU up 27-21 at the half. The lady Tigers were finding gaps in MSU's defense, but shots weren't falling early. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going in the second half....

Hughes is doing a nice job filling in for Eason. Last I heard Eason seems to be OK and the trip to the hospital was more a precaution than anything else.

MSU cut it to 5 early on into the second half, but LSU pulled away and has kept a 10+ point lead since. LSU up 46-32 w/ 10:50 to go.

Latear is a good friend of mine.

I will def be doing a little extra praying tonight.

but this game is showing the improvement in these Lady Tigers. They couldn't sniff a basket in the 1st 2 games against the Dawgs.

Please tell her we were all thinking about her and hoping for the best.

Game has tightened up. LSU was only up by 3, but pushed the lead back to 7. MSU is fighting back and cuts the lead to 3 w/ 3:27 left.

LSU up by 4. 3 players for LSU have 4 fouls, 2:38 left.
LSU misses a layup, but gets the rebound. Hughes scores. LSU stops MSU, but can't score.
    MSU buries a 3, LSU's ball up by 3 w/ 31.6 to go.

Barret going to the line for a one and one w/ 25 seconds left.
Barret makes both! LSU up 63-58 w/ 25.8 to go.

LSU gets the turnover, Hightower gets fouled w/ 16.9 left.

    LSU wins 63-58!

That got a little tense towards the end, but the Lady Tigers hung in there. Vandy is up next, Saturday at 8:00 p.m.

Outside of Baton Rouge, I know one group of people cheering for LSU to win the SECT -- the NCAA Selection Committee.

    Here's the thing.

LSU projects as anywhere from a 7-10 seed, more likely in that 8-9 area.

The problem with that is LSU is a host site for the 1st 2 rounds.

How do you tell a # 1 or #2 seed that they have to play a road game in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament?

So what the committee wanted was for LSU to either lose tonight, or win the whole tournament so they could overseed them to that 5-6 seed range or underseed them to that 11-12 range, because it's a lot easier to send a 3-4 seed on the road than it is to send a 1 or a 2.
