1. I like that description!

Wow, someone didn't do their homework.
  2. I think it's really great that we're getting some love from around the SEC, especially an SEC-West team... But, the QB situation really worries me. What if none of them develop to where they should be because of lack of reps, or attention from coaches... I digress, we'll be in Cali come Jan.
  3. Dude, don't sweat it. Sure, there were some ups and downs last year. But, between the staggering amount of talent that we have at QB and WR, and Jimbo at OC, we'll be just fine. Remember that Davey wasn't exactly John Elway when he first started. If I remember correctly, he started off much like Russell did. Also, he took a mediocre Mauck and made him into the most efficient passer in the SEC his last year. TRUST ME, bro, we will be just fine.

Besides, the only reason people keep harping on QB play is because it's our ONLY question mark. That's a great problem to have.
  4. Yea contained, I guess you're right. It's just such of a non-issue that it IS an issue--sorta.
  5. Far be it from me to question or criticize Saban, but I wonder how JR would have progressed if he had been the #1 guy from the get-go last season.
  6. I have full confidence that Russell will develop into one the SEC's finest. If you remember last year, most of his mistakes were due to inexperience and not knowing all the plays. It wasn't due to lack of talent. I believe from his experience last year and the work he's put in over the summer, he'll iron out the kinks and do just fine. He can only get better and that's a scary thought considering some of the drives he put together last year.

One thing that really impressed me about Russell is that he seemed to do really well in most clutch situations, for a first time freshman. His come from behind drives in the OSU and Iowa game displayed a poise that is almost unheard of for a qb playing in his very first season in the SEC.
  7. Saban was trying to make JR earn it. He didn't. The team suffered. I didn't necessarily like the way they rotated QBs, but I saw why it was necessary. When JR does mature & become the star we know he's capable of being, it will be because he's earned it & was pushed to work for it. Saban had the right idea, but the implimentation left something to be desired (particularly against Auburn). I think Miles has taken the right approach leaving the competition open this summer to try & make JR work even harder.
  8. Anyone know how long this guy coached under Stoops? I wouldn't mind our defense having the same look as OU if that's gonna be the case.
  9. I believe last year was his first at Oklahoma & he was only co-defensive coordinator. So I'll pretend that Stoops called all the shots during the game against USC & Pellini handled the defense the rest of the year. :hihi:
