Anyone think this will effect LSU's recruiting? Will the threat of a hurricane and being close to a natural disaster cause parents and recruits to go elsewhere? Interesting question to pose i think..

It's the same danger here as Miami, Florida, Florida St., Auburn, etc. I don't think Florida St. lost too many rectruits from the hurricanes that slammed the pan-handle the last couple years.

I wish that the tulane guy thread hadn't been deleted. I was about to point out that he was most likely sitting in his bedroom at his mom and dads house jerking off with one hand and stirring trouble with the other. Punk.

This will affect some decisions. Face it. Who wants to go to a school where this could be your reality as seen on TV. Overall, how LSU faces the upcoming weeks and how Tiger fans respond will make the difference. A recruit who has seen the total devastation and then sees 92,000 going bananas will know for sure something's special in BR. LSU recruiters must convince recruits that BR is a safe (from hurricanes) and special place to come to school. No doubt Miami faces a similar sell.

The loss of quality players that transfer from N.O. from this storm is also a consideration. People with deep Louisiana roots (vast majority of LSU recruits) won't run away from this.

Well, like someone said, it hasn't hurt Miami, Florida or FSU....Besides, most of the players we're recruiting are located in the "hurricane prone south" anyways.

This doesn't hurt LSU's recruiting because BR isn't devastated like New Orleans. Tulane? I would think perhaps....but the only thing that will hurt our recruiting is if we don't play in Tiger Stadium this season--then that gives the inaccurate impression that our campus isn't up and running....and recruits on visits wouldn't be able to see campus if we play elswhere.

Not a single LSU athlete was endangered by this storm. Not a single LSU facility was shut down in Baton Rouge. This will not affect recruiting in the least.

Does USC lose athletes from sitting atop the San Andreas fault? Nope.

I can imagine that a few players in the past have left the south due to hurricanes, this one will be on some minds I'm sure. Baton Rouge was spared due to the Hurricane going East by a few miles and some recruits and their families will be smart enough to see that. But as others have pointed out it hasn't seemed to hurt Miami, Florida and FSU all that much and they've all been in the vicinity of many major hurricanes recently.

There is no where in the country that you are not in danger of something.
