It's what I suspected. Miles was just properly introducing a senior quarterback, who is in fact, first in line to take over Russells job. He never put Perilloux down. I suspect that there will be competition at each position in the spring . . . including quarterback.
What a useless article. Miles never said Flynn would be the starter, so how can he "reverse" field? He said he appears to be, and should appear to be, IMHO. He's a 5th year senior with more starting experience, and Perrilloux is a RS Sophomore with NO starting experience. If Perrilloux makes Flynn look like Russell made Quinn look, it's Perrilloux's job. (No offense, Islstl, I know you just posted the link. I just thought it was a stupic article)
Well it's an LSU official who is doing spin/damage control. So obviously LSU feels there is something to it.
Maybe they had a lot of floks questioning this, but I never took it to mean he was definitely going to be the starter. Like I said, I hope you didn't take offense to what I said, as I was just talking about the article.
It's what's called a "Freudian slip". :hihi: I wouldn't assume Flynn automatically beats Perrilloux out boys. Don't know how RP's been coming along but he's talented. :thumb:
"Miles declared that the upcoming senior, a backup the past two seasons to JaMarcus Russell, "very comfortably APPEARS to be our next quarterback" and that he had fallen "just shy" of winning the job in the past." Seems pretty simple to me. It's Flynn's now but that could change.
Wow, glad thats all it is, thought from the title Jarrett Lee had decommitted ! The good news is that we have two talented quarterbacks who will compete and regardless of the outcome will make one another better.
