2007 SCHEDULE Aug. 30 at Mississippi State Sept. 8 VIRGINIA TECH Sept. 15 MIDDLE TENNESSEE Sept. 22 SOUTH CAROLINA Sept. 29 at Tulane Oct. 6 FLORIDA Oct. 13 at Kentucky Oct. 20 AUBURN Nov. 3 at Alabama Nov. 10 LOUISIANA TECH Nov. 17 at Ole Miss Nov. 24 ARKANSAS Miss St, good starter, should get us ready to play VT. VT = big game, will tell us a lot about our team. M. Tenn, easy game after hard, that's good. S. Carolina has upset potential, but we'll have time to prepare. Tulane, have to show up ready, but a breather after Spurrier and co. Florida - big game, in BR, hopefully we win, but its up for grabs. At Kentucky on the road, possible trap game, hope we are not emotionally drained after Fla. Auburn = big game, in BR (that's good). Then 'open date' prior to Bama on the road. Bama will be an emotional game, I hope we don't peak too early with the open date just before. La Tech, opportunity for them, hopefully we get to play a lot of kids in this one and get ready for the last 2 games. Ole Miss on the road, they are always UP for LSU, hopefully we prevail. Arky in BR = big game, may be for the west? I'm glad its at home. We'll play our usual 5 or 6 hard games, but I like the way we don't have 2 killers back to back. Our hardest games are in BR, except Bama, and we just have to live with that. But its not as bad as last year with 4 top 10 ranked teams, ALL on the road. Thank someone for small favors. Thoughts?
I like the way the schedule separates big games but there are a lot of quality teams to deal with. With V. Tech, their strong secondary combined with our backfield may have us focusing on the running game. After the struggles last year, I'm just hoping we have that ability to pound it when needed. It just seemed like Russell took too long to get the ball to the RB at times. If we struggle to run it early in the season (like past years), Flynn may have to live up to the hype early. I feel pretty good about South Carolina since it's at home and they lost their stud WR. Still, you can't bank a W against the prick. If we're undefeated come Oct 6th, the atmosphere will be unreal. I honestly believe we would've beat them 2 out of 3 last year at the Swamp. We return a lot of talent but we've also lost a lot. If everyone is healthy on both sides, I think we have the edge.
That FLORIDA, at Kentucky, AUBURN stretch is gonna be tough. Hopefully Kentucky plays like they did last year against us, not Clemson and we play our game unlike Florida and Auburn last year.
And Miles thinks USC has an easy schedule. Sorry to be a "homer" here, but this is just silly. LSU doesn't have back to back road games all year, nor do you have back to back "tough" games all year. @ 3-9 Mississippi State, easy win unless the MSU cheerleaders foreget to put on their uniforms for the game. Then it will be ugly. 10-3 V-Tech, at home but will be a tough game 7-6 Middle Tennessee State@ home, what other directional school calls themselves "middle"? 8-5 South Carolina @ home, they beat that same "middle" school, Wofford, Florada Atantic, MSU and Kentucky for 5 wins last year. Could be a good game, at home.... score...LSU by 14 +. @ 4-8 Tulane, bus ride and another week off, 3rd in 5 weeks. 13-1 Florida@ home, tough game again, but again @homeand sandwiched between having the starters sitting on the bench in the 2nd half between Tulane & Kentucky. 8-5 Kentucky, second time in 10 years Kentuck broke the .500 mark. Can they do it again? 11-2 Auburn @ home, tough game, they got there by beating the likes of Buffalo, Arkansas State, Tulane and Washington State (ug!) as well as LSU. But hey, we all can agree they will give you all you can handle. Not an easy win, but at home. @ 6-7 Alabama, last year beat a pretty good Hawaii team that traveled 5000 miles to Tuscaloosa, after that, not much. They beat the usual, Vandy, L- Monroe, Duke, Ole Miss and Fla International buy a win teams. Saban is hated by LSU because he once told a fib... (that's what I hear). LSU wins by 50 million to zero. 3-10 Loisiana Tech @ home Enjoy another week off. @4-8 Mississippi, hit the snooze button and enjoy another road win. 10-4 Arkansas@ home, they could give you game, but you get them at home and after two weeks off, could be a good game but at home... LSU by 10+. Tomorrow, the unbiased USC schedule. The Trojans open with Idaho @ home, and you don't ever want to be Miss Idaho in the ebonics Miss America Pagent! And special thanks to youcandoit for catching my omition.
