LSU had 136 student-athletes earn Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll status during the 2004-05 calendar year, the league office announced this week.

When factoring only sports in which the SEC recognizes a conference champion, LSU's 136 academic honor roll awards ranks second in the league.

Florida leads the SEC with 173 academic honor roll awards. South Carolina ranked third in the SEC with 134 on the academic honor roll, while Georgia and Kentucky tied for fourth with 130 each.

In order to be named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a 3.0 grade point average.

LSU had 33 student-athletes named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the fall, followed by 37 during the winter and another 66 this spring.
