By that list, Alabama has 17...

Alabama: AP, Berryman, Billingsley, DeVold, Dunkel, FACT, FB News, FW, Helms, Matthews, National Championship Foundation, NFF, NY Times, Poling, Sagarin, Sporting News, UPI

    1973
    Alabama: Berryman, UPI

    1966
    Alabama: Berryman

    1965
Alabama: AP, Billingsley, Football Research, FW*, National Championship Foundation

    1964
    Alabama: AP, Berryman, Litkenhous, UPI

    1962
    Alabama: Billingsley

    1961
Alabama: AP, Berryman, Billingsley, DeVold, Dunkel, FB News, Football Research, Helms, Litkenhous, National Championship Foundation, NFF, Sagarin, UPI, Williamson

    1945
    Alabama: National Championship Foundation*

    1941
    Alabama: Houlgate

    1934
    Alabama: Dunkel, Houlgate, Poling, Williamson

    1930
    Alabama: Football Research, Parke Davis*

    1926
Alabama: Billingsley, Football Research, Helms*, National Championship Foundation*, Poling

    1925

Alabama does not count Williamson or Berryman, but does count the NCF.

By that, LSU would have 3.

So by that I understand that LSU had a national championship 20 years before Alabama ever had one, talk about tradition...:dis: And we had one just three years ago, the CRYSTAL BALL that you dont have any and wont get any anywhere in the near future...:hihi:
Im just kidding with you, the whole idea of this thread is a joke, LSU only claims 2, cause we're not fans of BS talk:lol:

Congrats on the 1908 title! :)

I thought it was '01 you guys won. Was it '03? Man, seriously, I have got to get some relaxation. Work is destroying my memory.

What's fascinating, is that the SEC has won or shared the title 5 times since the creation of the SECCG. Did you know that? 33% of the titles went to SEC teams (Bama in 92, Fla in 96 and 06, Tenn in 98, and LSU in 01 or 03... ack). 5 times in 15 years.

Then 7 of the top 10 recruiting classes, as per Rivals. Or 7 (or is it 8?) of the top 20 classes, per Scout.

    Best conference, hands down.

Yup, it was in 03, we played in the BCS title game, won, got the crystal. But SC claimed a share at the title because they won the rose bowl against a no. 4 Michigan.. Someone needs to get a life...
But yes, the SEC is the best conference hands down, and its the internal bleeding that keeps us away from NCs, people need to understand that you cant get away with going undefeated in the SEC, Auburn was amazing in 04, undefeated and didnt get a chance at the title game.:dis: Well, at least people are NOW recognizing how tought the SEC is.

EDIT: And, I dont understand why we dont claim the 1908 title, we went undefeated that year!!!

Well, Alabama was the only team in '66 that was undefeated and untied, but we don't claim that one either. Mich. State and Notre Dame tied that year, 10-10, but Alabama finished behind both of them.

What's strangely confusing is how someone could vote MSU #2 behind ND as well? Didn't they tie them? How does one decide who was the better team in a tie?

I wish, but probably not going to happen.

Heck, even in the BCS system, ND and MSU would've played each other anyway. Again.

So... should I keep acting like I hate LSU on the other threads, or what?

And what *DOES* it take to get banned somewhere?

I mean, aside from BamaMag. I'm a Tide fan, and I cannot stand that site. Nor TI.

Nah, I saw a thread at the Auburn board that was about what kinds of cows make for the most gentle lovers. The Miss. State fans had some strong opinions on that subject, though. Things got pretty heated.

Of course, the thread became strangely quiet after someone posted a link to a Chick-Fil-A commercial.
