I looked at Dandy Don's commit list for 2007, and so far we have more kids from out of state than in recent history. QB from Tex., kicker from NC, OL from Fla., T-Bob from Atl. (ok, he's really a cajun). But, you know what I mean. So, what's going on? Is La. down this year, so we had to go out of state? Is Miles and LSU's reputation so strong that now we CAN sign blue chips from out of state more easily? Is this year just unusual, and we'll return to norm next year? I don't follow recruiting until the kid commits, so what do you think?
Actually, Louisiana is flooded with high school talent this year. It's supposed to be a banner year for Louisiana (talent wise). I guess being on TV (and garnering lots of national attention) every week is starting to pay off.
This is a great year for La talent, but it was lacking in a few areas that we needed. But besides that, I do think LSU is in a great position to recruit kids from all over the area and have success with them. Are we recruiting more out of state kids now than under Saban? It seems like it, (besides for Tx).
I really think the national attention we've been getting over the past 3 years is starting to make an impression on youngsters all over the South. I believe that's why we have so much pull in other states these days.
