LSU, Texas both tout pro-caliber talent
Elite programs prepare to face each other in CWS finals

Two teams will meet at Rosenblatt Stadium beginning Monday night for the College World Series championship series.

Both offer a preview of several early-round selections in the recently completed Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Both are incredibly balanced, boasting strong starting pitching, powerful lineups and solid defense. Both are steeped in tradition, institutions in nearly every Division-I sport. Both programs operate under very high expectations -- year in and year out, nothing less than a championship being the goal. Both are coached by legends of the game. Both programs are very familiar with Omaha.

In short, both teams know the routine: Win and be a hero; lose and go home.

These two teams are LSU and Texas. Two programs that, for all their similarities, have taken very different roads to Omaha.
