But they really were unacceptable AND terrible tonight. there is no other way to describe our pass defense. I'd rather you not try and police what people can or can not say after an embarrassing effort by our secondary. Do you have a family member that plays defense? You're coming off like someone being personally offended for someone they know. I still love all our football players, they lay it out there everytime they play. Sadly I'm not going to ignore the obvious regression that has happened over the past month.
There is not a single unacceptable LSU player nor terrible. They played bad.. A win is NEVER terrible NOR unacceptable.... Again, I will defend the integrity of LSU every time. Good night Geaux Tigers..
Funny thing, if we were a Pac 1 or Big 10 team, no one would be complaining about the defense. We would just be happy about the win!
I don't see anyone questioning the integrity of the LSU defense. As far as I know, they are all honest. If LSU continues to play defense like that, you will be leading the bandwagon on "unacceptable and terrible." JMO OM has no size, no depth, and not a hell of a lot of talent...plenty of heart though. Our "power back" stands 5'7" and weighs in at about 170. We made some mental mistakes and had what? four to's? Even the announcers were making fun of a "no call" on PI against LSU. Are we a better team than LSU? Of course not. Play four more times, and we lose them too, most likely. But we helped you in just about everyway possible, and you seemed not to want it. JMO
Reb I don't know what it is about Ole Miss but other than a game every now and then, the Rebels always play us hard.
Simon played better in the 2nd half. It was #32 who has been picked on for several weeks now, including last night. I give Ole Miss credit, Freese has them playing better than people give them credit for. normally, our defensive adjustments 2nd qtr-on results in us gaining control of the game, but not last night. didn't see OM scoring 35 pts against our D going into the game.
I always laugh at the phrase, "You don't want to score too soon," that announcers like to use near the end of a game. But, I'll admit I was more than a little nervous that we gave Ole Miss 15 seconds to get the ball down the field at the end of the game. I was thinking, "Jeremy Hill, couldn't you have waited to score on 2nd down?" I'm not used to seeing our defense so exposed. And I hope we get our heads out of our asses before we go up to Fayetteville.
Funny that you mention this. I commented yesterday (I think on the game thread) that I thought the clock management on our game-winning drive was great, and going for the TD the right call. And, that :15 seconds left on the clock for Ole Miss was still making it too interesting.
