Big test for Russell. Can he improve enough this week to give Fla fits next week. Big test for Pellini's Pass Defense. It will see another 50 passes this week. Which LSU pass defense shows up? #11 LSU 31, Vandy 14 Other SEC lines and games with teams ranked above LSU, home team in caps: #13 FLA -28 over MSU - LSU next for the Gators #6 OSU -3 over #16 Penn St - Could Penn State leap past LSU with a win #8 Tenn -3 over #5 GA - A Georgia loss moves LSU up a notch? Bama gets UT later!!! Texas -13.5 over OU - Pray the Sooners roll! 43 against KSU is encouraging! #20 UCLA -2 over #10 Cal - A CAL loss could move LSU back in the Top 10. My picks on these games: Florida bounces back but doesn't cover 28 - FLA 35, MSU 10 Penn State and JOPA make a move at home - PSU 17, OSU 16 Upset! Tennessee continues to roll with Clausen & tough D - Tennessee 21, GA 17 Texas really kicks the crap outta OU & covers 13.5 - Texas 27, OU 10 UCLA is scoring 40 a game at home, can they win? No! - Cal 45, UCLA 31
Wow, only a 14.5 favorite... Our defense looked pretty dang good against MSU and if we can go into Vanderbilt & play like that, Vandy will be lucky to get a fieldgoal in this game. Their QB Cutler has shown his ability to throw though and if Pellini gives their receivers the room, they will take advantage of it. Vandy's defense will be severly outmanned & a consistent Russell will allow us to beat them both through the air & on the ground.
I think OSU easily cover -3 @ Penn St. They looked really good against Iowa and barely lost to Texas. If I was a betting man, this would be my lock.
OSU should win, they stopped a mobile QB in Vince Young, forcing him to pass, and Michael Robinson does not have the passing skills to beat OSU. He's still throws short on a lot of his passes and i don't think he can carry his team on his arm. but the game is in Happy Valley, and OSU barely escaped there 2-3 years ago when PSU was much worse so i guess its possible
Vandy will put up some points becuase of the porous pass defense.. I'd say 14-21.. but LSU will put up at least 42... Vandy doesnt not have the defensive speed or size to stop LSU...
With LSU its not a matter of how good the team they are playing is.. its a matter of matchups... AT THE PRESENT TIME... LSU doesnt matchup well with a team that can throw the ball... against a running team, they are set... LSU shut down Riggs and Norwood, considered by many to be the best RB's in the SEC...
