We need a few threads to jump-start things, the season is one month away. This has got to be one of the strangest off-seasons in TF.com history, I'm ready to put the summer behind me. I wanna hear some final-score predictions that can be compared later with more informed predictions nearer to game week. Make your prediction based on current feelings, before we're influenced by the events of camp and the talking heads as the season approaches. Heat & humidity too much for the visitors, RM scores two 2nd half TD's after coming in for starter KW LSU! 47 'neers 16
Interesting... I'm thinking the offense will need AT LEAST the first half to settle in, and most of that will be on the ground or dump passes which means time will fly...leading to relatively low scoring and clock control. LSU - 31 Appy State will test our backfield...I don't think they'll challenge the front. Depending on how ready our corners are, they might not score at all or they might score three. I'm thinking... App. State - 10
31-13 I'm expecting a somewhat sloppy game having to replace many key starters. And we can't stop mobile QB's... We probably won't pass much, kind of like last year's game against Miss. State except App. State will score a couple times because of their QB's elusiveness.
Unless we are very fortunate in having long passing td's, I don't think we will go up by 21, so I would say win by 14. Of course, we could likely have some long running plays too, but I don't think the first game will be too explosive.
I said good guys by 14. We'll be settling in. Their QB is good, they beat Mich. last year and will come in and believe they have a shot. They have a good QB, and they'll test our new LB and corners.
I have to hope that my Mountaineers can pull off another upset (ASU by 3), but it will be tough not being able to sneak up on anyone. I appreciate the respect that is shown on this board. We are young at a few key postions and the way we play will depend on how our depth holds out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kfiay84WcQ I don't know if you have seen this on youtube, but I am sure it will get you ready for gameday. GO APP STATE!
Welcome I was about to post this video so I will put it up for you.
I was between 14 & 21... The first half will likely have some sloppy play. With a young QB & CB's I expect them to get some big passing plays & us to have a turnover or 2. However, it will only be enough for them to keep it close. Crowton will use a lot of dink & dunk passes along with the strong running game, chipping away at them for the most part. But we have too many playmakers to not take some occasional big shots (think Trindon Holliday!). I think it will be a close game until the 4th, where our size, strength, conditioning & depth take their toll & we separate.
LSU crushed a very good VA Tech team in the first game of the year last year. LSU then crushed a respectable Miss St team. I seriously doubt Appy State hangs around past the second quarter. Size, speed and depth will be too much. Plus the heat and the reality that is Tiger Stadium. Miles and Co will have them ready. Appy State will end up with 21 points of their own, but LSU will score over 40.
