Hey everyone. If my memory serves me hasn't the LSU v Ark game been on the day after thanksgiving for the past 5yrs or so? The reason i ask is that now it is listed as Nov. 29th(Saturday after Thanksgiving) on LSU's site and CBS(who is carrying the game) The main reason im concerned is that i'm getting married in New Orleans on the 28th of Nov. (we are traveling in from NJ) By some miracle am i actually going to be able to go to the game? Or if not me my friends and family will at least be able to go.

I know they frequently change game times this close to the season. But would they change the date of the game at this point? Should i :D :geaux: or should i :sob: :cuss: ? Thanks for any info.

Check LSUSports.net again, it says LSU v Ark will be the day after Turkey Day at 1:30pm.

I guess my question is who would schedule a wedding within 6 days of an LSU game.

I had to schedule my wedding on an open date, because my entire groom party would not have come. (Possibly myself)
Do you still have time to change the wedding date to an open date ??? There still is time.

I think the game is always initially scheduled for Saturday and CBS has the option of picking it up on Friday. They normally do move it to Friday (at least for the past several years) but they don't HAVE to. There has been some talk of them switching to a different game on that Friday.

The last I heard, CBS had already said that the LSU-Ark game was still on Friday for this year.

Believe me that was a big consideration. Boy did i hear it from my dad when i told him hehe.We wanted to have it the on the off weekend before Auburn but all the only date available at the place we wanted was the 28th. On the bright side... the game is going to be early and the wedding doesn't start till 7pm. On the down side is that we will be staying in NO that whole week and weekend and people are going to be flying in just in time for....... you guessed it... The Bayou Classic weekend. I believe our hotel is the Hampton in on Canal street. I told all my friends not in the wedding party that i completely understood if they went to the game then booked it down to NO. I already told my Fiance i'd be watching the game with the rest of my buds.

Married during football season? What were you thinking? Now you have to have aniversary parties on that day for the rest of your life, effectively ruining that weekend for football!

Eric D is right. You should elope sometimes between now and opening day. Just hop on a plane and fly to Vegas. Your brides mother will hate you forever if you do but if she is anything like my mother-in-law she will hate you for something else anyway.
At least for the rest of your life you will not have football season interrupted by anniversaries. Think about it. 10 years from now LSU and Arkansas are both undefeated and ranked #1 and #2. This is for all the marbles. You have tickets on the 50 yard line. Buuuttt Noooo. You will be lucky to be able to sneak a few peeks at the tube during your 10th anniversary party! You think your buddies will be at the party consoling you in your misery? Hell No! They will be in Tiger Stadium saying "What a great game! I sure wish LSU667 was here to see it!

"She's the worst person I know, sent from down below - Mother-in-law, If she would leave us alone, we would have a happy home - Mother-in-law" Baton Rouge's own late and great Ernie K-Doe
