DEFENSE A+ they played great, hard to stay on the field that long though. through it all they kept us in it. I don't know what else you can say or do to help your offense win unless it is score for them. With Zenon out it was definately a lose, maybe we would have scored with him in. Too bad the offense didnt score a TD. Offense C I don't know if they are to blame or the coaches, hard to say. I know some key positions seemed to UNDER perform. Maybe I expect too much, I don't know. I think we have alot of the physical aspect of the game, we just need to concentrate on the "mental" aspect. THAT can be coached. SOme great plays were executed but just as many were bonehead plays. Now Auburn was good and credit is given BUT that's where you seperate the "good" from the "GREAT".. you have to rise above and beat good/great teams to be considered great. SO yeah give auburns Defense credit... all that tells me is you don't think we can rise above and beat a good team. We have to though. We need more consistant running game. We need J marc to think a little more and use a little more finese instead of just a gun. this was last years news. A consistant running game is a combo of the line and a Good 1st string RB. We seem to have RB by commitee, which is fine but no one is really producing like I'd like to see. The first two games arent a good indicator, the SEc will be. I am not worried about it, but to get to a " good" BCS game we need to step it up on Offense a bit. RB's C. We need Ab or JV to think they are Kenny Irons. LSU needs a back like that. We usually have one. QB C. WE need a QB ( regardless of who, JR or MF or RP ) that manages the offense. JR makes some great plays, he's good. But he can make some bone head plays too. We need some consistancy. Either this isn't being coached to him or he just isnt getting the message. One thing for sure, if he is going to be playing on sunday he will have to develop this. Better game management. O line B- I think they did pretty good. AU was a good defense and JR had alot of time MOST of the time. I would have liked to have them do a little more opening of some holes for the RB's though. Recievers B those guys came back for the ball, stretched, took alot of punishment. a couple drops but not many. Coaching C..... Play calling was a bit off, I wont blame Jimbo, he isnt the head coach. Miles should take it. Supposedly the buck stops there. I have no way of knowing if the play calling was Jimbo all the way or Miles wanted him to stick to a game plan. It would be nice to pass on first down every now and then,.... everyone KNOWs we are going to run on first down. We advertise it. Also Jamarcus needs some coaching on game handling and clock management. Miles bears this responsiblity. I am in no way "down" on the coaching staff. Just this game in particular, some things either weren't practiced, or we just didn't execute them. if Special teams. B plus. Their punter was awesome, that helped them win believe it or not. Our special teams played pretty good considering. Officials: Z- they sucked for both sides, way too many bad calls on both sides. blind men could have done better. I would say AU was a better team but they aren't. They were better today. they had "just enough" and some luck. We didn't have either and it was more our fault than theirs. Sure we can give them Kudos for being a tough team, but WE are a TOUGH team. YOU have to BEAT other tough teams, it's why you play the game. You don't play to lose even to other good teams. Give them credit for being like us, a good tough SEC team. That in itself should get you in the top five nationally. We didn't get out played, our defense played as good as theirs, probably better. We didn't get outcoached, Tuberville? he's sly but he isn't coach of the year material. Neither is Miles. TT had a good plan and he stuck to it. Miles didnt get taught a lesson, is what I mean, there were no hat tricks that fooled us, just straight up football. Home field advantage? probably some yeah. Our defense didn't act like it made much difference though. Their athletes are about equal with ours so it wasn't that. They have us in the RB dept ( KEnny irons ) but we have them on receivers, so it about evens out. They have a better punter but CJ is good enough. sspecial teams edge goes to them by just a hair, not enough to make a difference. The officials were awful but we still could have overcome. So why did we lose? Poor offensive coordination. No not Jimbo.. all of it. Miles, Jimbo, the QB, the running game...... was all SUB LSU. it wasnt what we KNOW we can do. It would be fine for the ACC or Pac 10 but not the SEC and especially NOT LSU. :nope: I trust Miles will correct this by next week and the week after. or I may have to email him LOL  back on track next week let's run the table boys. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
Coaching D: This excludes Pellini. Terrible offense game plan, terrrible clock mangament, failure to bitch at officials. QB B: any time you throw for 267 you did well in my book, even if you make two boneheaded plays.
I give JaMarcas a B. I only knock him for not realizing earlier that he couldn't outrun those Auburn LBs. Throw it away JaMarcus !!!
