It is hard for me to make the trip as a 10 year old... I went to 8 games this past season though... And had 100% confidence we would win all of them too... It will be like that no matter who we play, too
This would not happen unless both schools had something to gain. http://www.al.com/sports/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/base/sports/1137147790317520.xml&coll=2 More From The Birmingham News | Subscribe To The Birmingham News
AU game with LSU may move
Friday, January 13, 2006 CHARLES GOLDBERG News staff writer AUBURN - Auburn and LSU have asked the Southeastern Conference to approve a schedule change that would move their football game from Oct. 21 to Sept. 16, a move that would create a series of other schedule changes for both teams. The proposed change, which is endorsed by athletic directors at both schools, is designed to break up a difficult run through the SEC for both teams; help LSU with its non-conference schedule and solve a problem created when Tulane inadvertently scheduled both Auburn and LSU on the same day. The last-minute changes come as college teams move from 11 to 12-game schedules. Advertisement The Auburn-LSU game would become the third game rather than the eighth game of the season for both teams. If the change is approved, Auburn would move its Sept. 23 Tulane game to Oct. 21; and play Temple or another non-conference team on Sept. 23. ``We may have some blanks to fill, but I'm confident we'll do that," said Auburn Athletics Director Jay Jacobs. Moving Tulane to a later date breaks up Auburn's original schedule that featured five straight SEC games against South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida, LSU and Ole Miss. ``The key was I didn't like having five conference games in a row, and not playing our first conference home game until Oct. 7," Jacobs said. ``I thought it would be better that we made the change. I think it's win-win for us and LSU." LSU senior associate athletics director Dan Radakovich endorsed the plan for similar reasons, citing the fact LSU would otherwise have to play five straight games at home to start the season. "It was good for us, good for LSU, that we do this. That's the way we looked at it," he told the Baton Rouge Advocate. LSU is close to filling its Oct. 21 opening with a non-conference team, Radakovich said. He also said he wanted to move the Auburn game to help the field at Tiger stadium withstand both LSU and New Orleans Saints games scheduled in September.
