LSU will almost likely have to win the SEC Conference tournament in order to get an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. They will have a 50-50 chance if they lose in the title game. Other than that, forget it. The biggest factor is the team's poor performance as of late and the fact that your best player is out for the season (Lloreda). The NCAA will not pick an LSU team that is limping towards the finish line. It's a tough road ahead.
They probably go regaurdless of the outcome in the SEC the question is how long they will stay. You do have to give them credit for coming back the last two games no matter how ugly it was.
Jaime Lloreda was just too important a piece to the LSU puzzle. No coach can be blamed for that. They actually held together fairly well under the circumstances.
On the other hand, we did finish 2nd in the west which helps the ole RPI. One win in the tourney might do it, unfortunately, we can't beat Auburn and Alabama is playing their best ball of the season.
Spare this young Tiger team the embarrassment, as they are no match for the big boys. I'm pullin for an NIT bid for em. JMO but at least they will be able to compete and maybe feel better about themselves going into next season if they happen to play good ball in the NIT.
even if they lost by 30 you go to the NCAA for experience if nothing else but you at least take your shot.
Actually one can blame Brady. He recruited the players, even those who left, and coaches them. It's his fault the inside game is weak and the perimeter game is lacking due to the above.
Tirk, I understand what your saying, but I would rather see em play a few more games and not get their heart ripped out by having to play a team like Stanford or similar caliber team.
