Or how about mighty 5-6 Cal coming within a less than 30 yard field goal of knocking off the "purported" top college football team in the country? And he's telling other people to remove the blinders? Geez.
Stanford or Wisconsin? What an idiot. Not a good reflection on the profession of sportswriter. Stanford and its band would never be more than a mid- or bottom tier team in the SEC. Ditto Wisconsin. Think either of them would have a better record than Ol Miss if they played Ol Miss's schedule? I dont.
I sure hope we play a big 10 school in a BCS bowl. Give us a month to prepare and watch the F out... Make this tool choke on his own garbage.
An SEC team has won the last 4 BCS title games, us being one of them. I believe that alone should earn us some leeway in the polls.
Bah...who cares. As they say when a player jumps up after a good play and dances around when his team is down by 35..."look at the scoreboard" (record). I think it pains them to see a "mediocre" SEC team at 10-1...
Here's the thing...pinheads like this think that a win is not legitimate if you don't blow the other team out. This thinking has been set up by allowing Boise State to enter the top 5 with the weakest schedule of anyone in the top 25. They blow people out because they club baby seals. The BCS now seems to promote this concept in general. Now, you see many, if not all, of the conferences looking to rack up points instead of training an excellent defensive team. When you win games 63-42, these idiots think that it's more legitimate tham 14-9, because they don't get definsively-based teams.
Meanwhile mighty Nebraska drops to Texas A&M... Sports reporters are all tools whose only job is to sell ads. Keep reminding yourself of that and you'll understand where they come from. They are simply pandering to the big TV markets. They have to hype mighty teams like Illinois, USC/UCLA/Californication University, ND, Purdue, Miami (1/2 that town is from NYC), and any team from the Northeast. They also have to cover their bases by including any and every team in the top 10 to have a shot at the crystal football or be a potential "upset in the making". Let's face it, in every game one team has to win and one team has to lose. When bowl games start shaking out, regardless of the result, they'll be in a position to say "I told you so" if they play all sides of the fence now.
