There's a new photo book that's just out from LSU Press about Pistol Pete at LSU. The title is SHOOTING THE PISTOL: COURTSIDE PHOTOS OF PETE MARAVICH AT LSU. The author is Danny Brown, a photographer for the Reveille during Maravich's playing days. He's probably sitting under the goal in a number of those You Tube clips!
I have never been much of a basketball fan, but one of my great disappointments was that I never went see him play.
i had to move get some drawing from our storage room in parker coliseum but anyway, i sat in the "vip" section and got the chills thinking about all the historic stuff that went down in that place...then i dug around in the press box look for old programs but didnt find any...i found the old star spangled banner lp which i assume they used
i know he must also make more shots with nothing but net than anyone else. i guess that just magnifies how pure his shot really was. you'd swear he was using a chick ball.
How is the NCAA record holder for most points (without a 3 pt line) and NCAA record for highest career avg and highest soph avg, junior avg, and senior avg considered the #2 shooter of all time? must be an espn poll.
